Seasoned Mayonnaise at Home (or your sandwiches new best friend)

I’m about to share a super secret amazing, lunch/dinner revolutionizing trick with you.

Are you ready for it?

Flavored Mayonnaise.

Seriously, y’all.  It’s beyond easy and I promise you that it will take your sandwiches to a whole new level.  There’s nothing quite like a ham and cheese sandwich, it’s traditional, it’s comfort food, it’s memories and nostalgia and wonderful.

One of my favorite bold and delicious flavored mayonnaise is the Roast Red Pepper and basil mayonnaise, this is simply divine paired with roast beef and turkey.

  • 1/4 C Mayonnaise
  • 1 whole roasted red bell pepper, rough chopped (I use Fire Roasted in a Jar)
  • 3 to 4 Fresh Basil Leaves, chopped
  • dash of hot sauce (optional)

Mix chopped red pepper, basil and mayonnaise together along with a dash of hot sauce (y’all know how I am) and then cover and refrigerate.

This needs to be refrigerated for at least 2 to 3 hours so that the flavors have time to marry.

If you really want to spruce it up, serve your sandwich on a toasted ciabatta roll or sourdough roll.

This next mayonnaise is a fresh herb mayonnaise and oh my word y’all.  I may never eat another sandwich without it!!!

  • 2 C mayo
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chopped dill
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chopped oregano
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chopped basil
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chopped green onions

Mix together and allow to marry for at least 4 hours.

This is quite spectacular on a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

It takes a ham or chicken sandwich with swiss cheese, salad greens and toasted wheat bread to a whole new level of delicious.
