Lansing, Ill. – November 5, 2009 – Land O’Frost, the nation’s third largest lunchmeat brand, announced today that it has named Karen Malsom to the position of director of innovation.
Land O’Frost defined the new innovation role as part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy and in its pursuit to create new marketplace opportunities for the Land O’Frost brand portfolio. In her new position, Malsom will be responsible for overseeing retail product development.
“The creation of this new position, and specifically the hiring of Karen, will help us continue to listen to the wants and needs of consumers,” said David Van Eekeren, president of Land O’Frost. “Karen’s deep experience in marketing and packaging is a great asset for us. We are excited about the potential, and eager to bring new value added, innovative products to the marketplace.
Malsom joins Land O’Frost from National Restaurant Association (NRA) Solutions, where she managed all marketing disciplines for the ServSafe brand and helped the company grow the business significantly over 5 years through effective multi-platform product strategies. “I am thrilled to be joining such a nimble and dynamic company that is dedicating itself to growth through innovation. The creation of my position alone sends a clear signal to the marketplace that Land O’Frost is firmly committed to introducing new and differentiated offerings,” said Malsom. “I greatly look forward to working with the talented team already in place at Land O’Frost on many exciting new projects.”
